The Ardrossan Community council members would like to wish all the residents of Ardrossan a Happy New Year. We have all been working hard for you and our town over the last twelve months and have had mostly successful meetings and progress with all concerned. We do understand that 2011 is the start of the austerity measures and we will be working even harder to secure all our amenities. We see the closure of our library as it is and rehousing it at the civic centre of grave concern. We in Ardrossan have plenty of land to build a new and fit for purpose library and will be actively lobbying to make this happen and are calling all our town to help make this a reality. We are also asking for the towns support in our Lighting of The Castle campaign. As the focal point and centre of our town we are looking at ways to secure funding for lighting our national monument. These and other ongoing projects will make 2011 a busy year for the community council so from all of us we wish you a Happy New Year.
The community council meet very last Thursday of the Month at Stanley primary School and all members of the public are made welcome.
Kenny Mac Dougall
Secretary Ardrossan Community council
