Be a silver screen star for Aberdour Festival's film night
24 FebruaryAberdour Festival's annual Film Night, held in the marquee on Silversands Beach is a regular festival occasion and commercially produced feature films are normally screened. (Last year Local Hero & Greyfriars Bobby were the main events.)
This year, however, your film could be on the silver screen and you could be the A list celebrity.
Festival organisers have decided to invite anyone with a mobile phone/still camera with movie facility or camcorder - and that just about covers everyone - to make a short movie and send it to the festival.
Films can be anything you want - comedy, documentary, with or without soundtrack all you need is your imagination, a basic camera and a set of batteries.
A judging panel will select the best six and they will be screened on the night. They may also be nominated for awards in various categories. The awards will be known as ASBOs (Aberdour Short Brilliant Original) films. The movie makers will be invited to the evening to find out if their film has won a coveted ASBO. Best frocks and acceptance speeches obligatory!
Six local business have also ageed to have short commercials made, so if you fancy yourself coming up with the next big marketing idea since Compare the Meerkat, let us know and you could be asked to shoot a commercial. All commercials will be shown on the night and there will be an ASBO for the best one.
It's good ideas we're looking for, not technical expertise, so why not have a go? For more details see the Aberdour Festival website
