  • Aberdour Silver Sands facilities are to get a boost

Aberdour Silver Sands facilities are get a boost after funding for improvements was given the green light at South West Fife Area Committee’s latest meeting.

An award of £10,000 was agreed to provide a better welcome to the area with clearer directions to car parking areas, sports facilities, café and toilets.  The improvements will upgrade the entrance appearance and will also provide a safer environment for users of the sports pitches.

Councillor Alice McGarry, Chair of the South West Fife Area Committee said: “Silver Sands attracts many visitors throughout the year and this level of investment will hopefully encourage more visitors.

“These monies will help a great deal with meeting the costs of further improvements to Silver Sands and demonstrates the Council’s commitment to improving leisure facilities in Fife.”

Aberdour Community Council have been consulted in the development of this project and are very supportive of these improvements to boost tourism and encourage better use of local sport facilities.
