Committee has blooming great plans for Aberdour

  • The new sculpture and gardens will give a blooming great new look to Aberdour

Aberdour's Village in Bloom Committee is hoping to give the village a blooming great new look, with a £60,000 project to build a sensory garden and flower display.

The plans include a boat sculpture with flowers growing around it, welcoming visitors to the village at the west entrance, near the roundabout.

There will also be a real oasis of colour in the centre of the village, with 2000 plants and trees, model seals and a water feature.

A planning application has been lodged with the council for the boat project, with plans to advance the oasis plans later in the year.

This new garden will be a huge asset to Aberdour as what was there before was borring and not that nice to look at

I have had a hand in it along with the company that I work for and all the people that have seen the plans from my office have said its much better so in the end it might make more people come to the village and that means money to Aberdour

and it will have more seats

Lets just hope the numpties dont ruin in !!!

Isn't this for the benefit of the people of Aberdour? I sincerely hope the rationale behind this was that it would be a nice, community space for villagers and visitors to enjoy as it's main benefit. Not, primarily, as a way of racking in more cash for the village's businesses?

Do you have to take everything quite so literally  of course it is an asset to aberdour people but spend five mins in any business in Aberdour and they moan that there is not anyone around !!!

but I was really meaning to point out that it is an asset to the people that I have heard saying who has time to smell flowers etc well if it was a nicer place to sit /visit then you might find the time

Have your say...
