Fun Football Aberdour

Following the closure of James McGeechan’s First Steps Football, a group of parents have come together to maintain the highly popular Saturday morning sessions.

Fun Football Aberdour seeks to be exactly what the name suggests. We will offer Saturday morning football at Aberdour Primary School, with the emphasis on an inclusive, fun experience for kids of all abilities.

We intend to start the first session on Saturday 12 November 2011.

We would like to start sooner but we are not able to start until coaching and insurance arrangements are in place.

Cost will be £10 which covers all the sessions up till the Christmas holidays. Fees thereafter may vary but we have initial set up costs which relate to equipment, coaching certificate fees, insurance and PVG (disclosure) applications for the organisers. While the emphasis is, without question, about fun and participation, we intend it to be organised fun. For that reason we hope to offer and develop good coaching and skills practice, combined with football playing opportunity. The sessions will be led by parents who have some training in football coaching, all of whom have been legally disclosured.

We are in the process of making arrangements for all those involved to have suitable First Aid training. If any parent has a suitable First Aid qualification (eg HSE-approved) and would be prepared to help us out by attending the sessions until such time as we have other arrangements in place, we would be most grateful. Likewise, some people have already indicated (to Andy) that they wish to attend and a record of this is being kept. If you, as a parent, would like to participate, we will be asking people to complete registration forms on Saturday 12th.

We shall have three groups

3-4 years (10-11am)

5-7 years (10-11am)

8- approx 12 years (11am-12pm)

The organisers of Fun Football Aberdour are

Walter Heggie, David Jennings, Andy Johnston , Mark Mackarel, Ross McGregor and John McTaggart.

Please contact John McTaggart at johnmctaggart@btconnect.com if you would like your son/daughter to take part on Saturday November 12.
