Hillside School affiliates to Youth 1st

Hillside School are delighted to have obtained affiliate membership of Youth 1st for 2010. Youth 1st offer personal development events and activities to the young people of member organisations. These include:

Support and advice to young people and their workers
Games nights, First Aid courses, training for those running youth organisations
Youth work programmes such as Driving4Success
Information seminars.

We have already signed-up for four of our young people to take part in the March Driving4Success programme which runs in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. There is interest in the Emergency First Aid course and the Personal Development residential later in the year. Two S2 boys have attended the minute-taking workshop and will shortly participate in the follow-up, developing skills in chairing meetings.
