3/7/2009Programme for 2009 Aberdour Festival revealed

The 2009 Aberdour Festival programme is available now!

The full programme for this year's Aberdour Festival - Friday 31st July - Sunday 9th August - has now been announced - billed as 10 days of possibly the best small festival in the world with arts, crafts, song, dance, puppetry, sports and much, much more!

Amongst the highlights of the week will be the Art Exhibition, held in venues throughout the town. There's a preview of the exhibition on Friday night from 6pm-9pm, then the show is open on Saturday from 11am-6pm, on Sunday 12noon-5pm, and on Monday from 11am-5pm.

You are invited to join exhibiting artists for a glass of wine on the opening evening and have a chance to meet with old and new friends. Venues will be identified by numbers and balloons; locations shown in the Guide/Map available from Out of This World the week before and at all venues during the Exhibition.

Featured artists include Jane Forbes RSA, George Gilbert RSW+ poems and pictures by Anna Davis, new works on paper by Jonathon Brown. Look out for workshops during the weekend starting on Friday evening when you can try
your hand at doodling with Anne Marie Irvine.

On Saturday 1st August there is the popular Family Ceilidh & BBQ with Da Hooley - from 7pm-11.45pm in the Festival Marquee.

Tickets are £6.00 adults, £3.00 for children, with pre-school children free. Music will be provided by Edinburgh-based ceilidh band Da Hooley.

Events kick off at 7.30pm on Friday 31st July with 'Aberdour's Got Talent' - as the town's finest take to the stage to compete for top prizes.

The Festival parade gets under way at 10.45am on Saturday 1st August, and there's a full programme of events all the way up to Sunday 9th August - which will be up in full on the Festival website shortly. See the Festival website for more details of all the week's events.
