Teenager injured in Aberdour cliff climbing fall
26 JulyA local teenager was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after he fell around 25 feet while climbing at Goat Quarry near Aberdour.
The 16-year-old boy was camping with friends at the disused quarry, when the incident happened shortly before 10pm on Friday.
The teenager sustained a serious head injury and an injury to his spleen.
A police spokesman said he had fallen while attempting to climb the 70ft cliff face of the quarry.
The alarm was raised by the teenager's friends, and Fife Constabulary, the Scottish Ambulance Service and Fife Fire and Rescue Service all raced to the scene.
